Zoink resumes verification of Artemis 13 after host change and nerf
After the previous host left the project amid controversy, Artemis 13 gets a new host and returns to verification by Zoink, now aiming for a difficulty near the Top 10.
The verification of Artemis 13, which had been halted just hours earlier following controversy surrounding its former host, has resumed with Zoink. The level has also undergone a difficulty change and is now being nerfed to target a placement around the Top 10.
The situation began after Nxhtrise, the former host of Artemis 13, was accused of scamming in an exposé published by content creator draggeye. The controversy led to the verification being halted and the project being announced as cancelled.
Zoink had spent approximately a month working on the level's verification and had already made significant progress before the interruption. Records from his streams show that he had reached 82%, along with several advanced runs on the level.
Shortly after the cancellation, however, the project received a new host, identified in community discussions as Mango/Mxngo. With the change in responsibility, Artemis 13 was no longer considered cancelled, and Zoink returned to working on the level.
The main change announced alongside the project's revival is its difficulty. Artemis 13, which was originally designed to compete for an extremely high placement, is now being nerfed to approximately Top 10 difficulty. Zoink has already begun making changes to the level during his stream.
After returning to verification, Zoink also progressed rapidly through the new version of Artemis 13. The player reached 86% on the nerfed version, surpassing the 82% he had previously achieved on the original version, which was expected to rank somewhere between Top 1 and Top 3.
The new progress further increases expectations that verification could move quickly following the changes. According to community discussions, some of the sections considered to be the biggest difficulty spikes in the previous version have been nerfed, making it easier for Zoink to maintain consistency on the new version.
With 86% already secured, Zoink is now just a few steps away from completing the new version of Artemis 13. The level, which appeared to have been definitively cancelled just hours earlier, is moving forward once again and is now targeting a potential placement near the Top 10.
The decision marks one of the community's fastest turnarounds involving a major level: within just a few hours, Artemis 13 went from being on track for verification to being cancelled, received a new host, and returned to development with Zoink on a significantly easier version.
Despite these changes, the situation involving the former host remains a separate matter. The allegations against Nxhtrise were publicly presented by draggeye, and DashWatch treats them as allegations rather than established judicial facts.
With the new version now in development, Artemis 13 is back on the community's radar. The next question is how far the new level will go and where it will ultimately rank if it is successfully verified and later rated.
